FAQ
Straight answers.
Including the ones where the answer is "no".
What is Reys, in one sentence?
A private workspace that reads, indexes and organizes the documents supporting a VA disability claim, so the evidence is in order before it reaches whoever helps you file.
Will Reys file my claim for me?
No. Reys does not submit anything to the VA on your behalf. Filing happens through you or through a VA-accredited representative.
This is deliberate. Representing a veteran in a claim is restricted to accredited individuals and organizations, and Reys is not accredited.
Can Reys tell me what to claim, or what rating I should get?
No. Reys does not give legal advice, does not recommend what to claim, and does not estimate or predict ratings or outcomes.
If you want that kind of guidance, talk to a VA-accredited representative. Veterans Service Organizations provide it at no cost.
Is Reys affiliated with the VA?
No. Reys is an independent product, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs or any government agency. Where the site references VA forms or reference data, that information comes from the VA's public developer APIs.
What does it cost?
Nothing during the closed beta. No payment details are collected, and there is no billing in the product today.
There is no published pricing yet because pricing hasn't been set. If that changes, beta users will be told directly rather than discovering it on an invoice.
How do I get access?
Email hello@getreys.com. Public sign-up is closed while the product is still being shaped by the people using it, so access is granted individually.
What kinds of documents can I upload?
PDFs and photos. Service treatment records, private provider notes, decision letters, DBQs and buddy statements are all normal inputs. A records request that arrives as one enormous scanned PDF is a typical starting point, not something you need to split up first.
My records are scans, not text. Does that matter?
No — that's the common case and it's handled. Text is extracted from each page automatically, including scanned documents and phone photographs, which is what makes the set searchable.
Who can see my records?
Your documents are encrypted at rest with dedicated keys, stored privately rather than at a publicly reachable URL, and served only through authenticated requests. Access and changes are written to an append-only audit log.
Your records are not used to train models, and are not sold or shared with advertisers.
Can I get my documents back out, or delete everything?
Yes to both. You can export your documents at any time, and you can ask for your account and its contents to be deleted. There is no requirement to keep using Reys in order to keep your own records.
Is Reys HIPAA compliant? SOC 2 certified?
Reys makes no such claim. There is no SOC 2, HITRUST, FedRAMP or comparable third-party attestation today, and none should be inferred from the security page.
If you need contractual data-protection terms — a Business Associate Agreement or equivalent — contact us before uploading anything rather than assuming coverage exists.
Should I use Reys instead of a VSO?
No — alongside one, if anything. Accredited Veterans Service Organizations represent veterans at no charge and can do things Reys cannot, including filing and advising.
Reys is useful for the part before that: arriving with your evidence already in order.
I found a security problem. Who do I tell?
Email hello@getreys.com. Reports are welcome and will be taken seriously.
